Terms of use

Last updated 17 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and BroSplit when you use the app or this website. By using BroSplit, you agree to them.

What BroSplit is

BroSplit is a free app for keeping track of shared expenses with friends: who paid, who owes what, and when a balance is settled. It is a record keeping tool. BroSplit is not a bank, a wallet or a payment service, and it never holds or moves your money.

Your account

  • You sign up with your own phone number and keep access to it secure.
  • You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, to use BroSplit.

Your groups and expenses

You own what you add to BroSplit. You give us permission to store it and show it to the members of the groups you share it with, so the app can work.

Balances are calculated from the expenses people enter. Check amounts before you pay anyone, because BroSplit cannot verify that an expense is correct.

Payments

When you settle up with UPI, the payment is made in your UPI app and is between you, your friend and your bank. BroSplit is not part of that transaction and is not responsible for payments that fail, are delayed or go to the wrong person.

Using BroSplit fairly

  • Do not use BroSplit for anything illegal, or to harass, cheat or mislead people.
  • Do not add people to groups without a good reason to share expenses with them.
  • Do not try to break, overload or reverse engineer the app or its servers.

Free, with ads later

BroSplit is free to use. Later on we plan to show one small ad in the app, and we will never put ads between screens. We may add, change or remove features over time to keep the app working well.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app’s settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other people at risk.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep BroSplit accurate and available, but we provide it as it is, without guarantees. To the extent the law allows, BroSplit is not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by expenses or payments entered by users.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using BroSplit after a change, you accept the new terms.
